Faults for 2SC0435T2F1-17

Posted by: john.sharp on

Hi,

I am attempting to purposely trigger the fault on the 2SC0435T2F1-17 Dual-channel SCALE-2+ driver core for testing purposes safely without breaking the driver. Are there any suggestions for repeated fault triggering that would not cause immediate or long term damage?

Thank you,

 John Sharp

Hi John Sharp

Thanks for approaching us

Here is feedback to your questions

1, what type of fault do you want to trigger?

2S0435T2F1-17 Core can detect UVLO primary side fault, UVLO secondary side fault, and short-circuit protection fault.

2. how to trigger the faults for testing purposes?

It depends on your actual peripheral circuit for the Core.

For UVLO, in general, you should find a way to load the corresponding supply voltage, such as VCC, VDC, VISO, VEE. in our AN-1101, you will find a useful explanation about how the UVLO function works, which can help you to create a test method on your own design to check the function.

For short-circuit protection, you need to apply a voltage that is less than VISO but higher than your detection threshold voltage while the Core is receiving a valid input command signal. Also, the AN-1101 will help you a lot.
